I started at LeanCor the day after Labor Day in 2007 – Founder and CEO Robert Martichenko found my resume on jobsinlogistics.com and called me in for an interview. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Master’s degree in International Business and Economics, and I speak four languages.

I knew very little about lean but it didn’t seem to be an issue. I was hungry to learn more and LeanCor offered exactly that – to be a part of a team that learns and solves problems every day. That was a perfect fit for me – I had previously worked for a global freight forwarder managing export and import shipments. I literally had a superior tell me: “Stop asking for more work, just sit there until the clock hits 5.” I wasn’t ready to stop learning, so I took the job from LeanCor as Lean Logistics Specialist.

I was LeanCor’s 14th employee.

Today we have over 300 employees and we’re continuously growing – even during the economic downturn in 2009. What an amazing place to be!

I served as a logistics specialist for four years and covered four different customer accounts from implementation to stabilization. I strengthened my leadership and supply chain management skills along the way.

In the midst of this, my father passed away in January 2012. My husband and I had to fly to Hungary immediately. LeanCor stepped in and collected about $800 – everyone chipped in to help pay for our tickets. They also got in touch with a florist in my hometown in Hungary and sent flowers to my dad’s funeral with condolences in Hungarian.

This gesture meant more to me than I can ever express – I knew it then that LeanCor was much more than just a place to work. It’s a group of amazing people who stick together and support each other.

My next career step at LeanCor was joining the Consulting and Training team. I had developed a passion for lean supply chain since attending the LeanCor Academy internal development program, and got to work on consulting projects in Poland, Germany, France and the US. I even co-taught classes through LeanCor Academy and the University of Kentucky Master’s program where we facilitate Green Belt Certification.

In the fall of 2013 – my husband took a job as a Professor at California State University in Fresno, CA. I feared relocation wasn’t an option, but LeanCor worked with me to find another opportunity where I could add value.

I am now representing LeanCor in California bringing online training solutions to global organizations.

As a young professional, I’ve been with LeanCor for eight years, have had five roles and countless rewarding experiences. I am eagerly anticipating continuing my supply chain career with a growing and exciting company. Every day is an adventure and opportunity to learn.
